Update – January 2008
What a busy couple of months we have just experienced! Visitors from Australia included Chris’s parents (Joan and Warren), John’s niece (Enyah), Joel Krigsman, John’s sister (Marie and Dale), and John’s nephew (Nathan and Sharlie) just to name a few. We have absolutely enjoyed having them and a couple of other Aussie day trippers around. Christmas and New Year’s were celebrated with some of our extended family – which was a vast improvement on the previous year. It is still a little strange for Christmas to be in the middle of winter, along with cold weather and very short days, but at least a hot roast dinner is greatly appreciated!
Prior to Christmas, John had spoken at conferences in both Spain and Italy, and continued training Kids leaders in Ukraine. Whilst in Spain, he also had opportunity to preach at a large church in Madrid, who had been praying for someone to come along and help their Kids ministry. Thus, they were rather excited and pleased to meet John and are looking forward to building relationship and commencing training. John and Chris both attended NLI’s biannual Eurosumit in Krakow, Poland, thanks to Joan and Warren babysitting the kids for 10 days. Following this, they traveled north to Gdansk and ran Kids leaders training sessions and parenting (yes, parenting!) seminars for the church there.
Early in the New Year, Christine was able to come back to Australia for her brother’s wedding. She had a very busy schedule, catching up with friends and family and visiting YPCC, but enjoyed every minute, especially those which included some sunshine!
We would like to send a huge thanks to everyone who has prayed for us or sent gifts, cards or emails over Christmas. Words cannot express out heart felt gratitude towards you!
